Semantic inconsistency measures using 3-valued logics

چکیده
AI systems often need to deal with inconsistencies. One way of getting information about inconsistencies is by measuring the amount in knowledgebase. In past 20 years numerous inconsistency measures have been proposed. Many these are syntactic measures, that is, they based some on minimal inconsistent subsets Very little attention has given semantic ones models knowledgebase where notion a model generalized allow an atom be assigned truth value denotes contradiction. fact, only one nontrivial measure, contension wide use. The purpose this paper define class 3-valued logics. First, we show which logics useful for purpose. Then can developed using graphical framework similar studied. We give several examples and how apply three also investigate properties their computation knowledgebases.

Inconsistency measures for probabilistic logics
Inconsistencies in knowledge bases are of major concern in knowledge representation and reasoning. In formalisms that employ model-based reasoning mechanisms inconsistencies render a knowledge base useless due to the non-existence of a model. In order to restore consistency an analysis and understanding of inconsistencies is mandatory. Recently, the field of inconsistency measurement has gained...
متن کاملMany-valued logics – implications and semantic consequences
In this paper an application of the well-known matrix method to an extension of the classical logic to many-valued logic is discussed: we consider an n-valued propositional logic as a propositional logic language with a logical matrix over n truth-values. The algebra of the logical matrix has operations expanding the operations of the classical propositional logic. Therefore we look over the Lu...
متن کاملDistance-based Measures of Inconsistency and Incoherency for Description Logics
Inconsistency and incoherency are two sorts of erroneous information in a DL ontology which have been widely discussed in ontology-based applications. For example, they have been used to detect modeling errors during ontology construction. To provide more informative metrics which can tell the differences between inconsistent ontologies and between incoherent terminologies, there has been some ...
متن کاملRough Sets and 3-Valued Logics
In the paper we explore the idea of describing Pawlak’s rough sets using three-valued logic, whereby the value t corresponds to the positive region of a set, the value f — to the negative region, and the undefined value u — to the border of the set. Due to the properties of the above regions in rough set theory, the semantics of the logic is described using a non-deterministic matrix (Nmatrix)....
متن کاملWell-Founded Inference and 3-Valued Logics
We deene a simple logical semantics based on minimal models in Lukasiewicz's 3-valued logic, L 3. On normal logic programs it is equivalent to the well-founded semantics (WFS), and on disjunctive programs it is equivalent to the P-stable semantics of Eiter, Leone and Saccc a, hence to Przymusinski's 3-valued stable semantics. One advantage is that it is char-acterised by simple conditions on mo...
